Zoom in Zoom out

A critical principle of leadership is being able to Zoom in and Zoom out at the right time…

Zooming into an issue, a deal, a situation and fixing it and then subtly zooming out always understanding the bigger picture.

For example; when I am trading in stock market, focus is on the immediate buy or sell, so I am zooming in. Now if all goes fine, I book profits and come out. However, if something goes wrong, the mind forgets to zoom out, it goes deeper into the issue.

We must realise all decisions made in the “zoom in zone” are bad decisions, as they are made on an ad-hoc basis. Think about it!

As an individual and a leader, it’s critical to Zoom in, focus and Zoom out, think big picture…
