My approach to academics has changed a lot since I have enrolled at Wayne State. When I first got here, my schedule was really overwhelming with baseball and school. Classes were much harder and I was having three hour practices almost every day. I struggled the first couple weeks adjusting my new schedule. But when I got help, I was able to better balance my schedule and get on the right track in school. In high school, I was able to get away with not studying, and not managing my time and be successful. I now understand how I need to prepare for tests, quizzes, and even lectures. When I prepare myself for lectures I got a better understanding of the information that was given by the professor.

Even though I have gotten better at preparing myself for my classes, I need to continue to get better at developing new strategies. I think studying is where I am weakest at. I need to prepare for exams earlier and more effectively. If I get better at my preparation, I believe I will become an excellent student-athlete at Wayne State.
