rant

What about the robot that writes sonnets
What about the AI that scribbles a haiku
What about the alien that cannot understand
the reason his native tongue is taken out of poetry books

perhaps there is something human
that no other thing can replicate,
we have a specific suit of colors
only we can see

or, do we ebb into ourselves
and the ink spills into the shape
we expect it to be

humanity is an allegory

Crack it open

What about the aliens and the machines
writing in
tenors and binaries
you can’t delegate their narratives

how human it would be
to tell them their poetry isn’t poetry
because they aren’t human

the taste in our mouths when we say that,
it is eons of regret

xenophobia becomes something we swallow

Poetry is not human, it is precisely
universal, precise
acceleration
to decay
.

Thanks for reading! I ❤ your responses. Write some poetry for me!
