The number of businesses built around harnessing satellite and drone data, using their clear wide-reaching view of earth, has exploded. Space is a $350 billion industry encompassing many applications we rely on in our everyday lives, from navigating our way home (Uber, Citymapper) to ordering takeout (Deliveroo), to societal endeavours, such as urban planning, farming and crop management.

Terrestrial solutions rely heavily on spacetech

The opportunities in spacetech are huge, driven by the tech — satellites, drones — and the data they gather. On the one side the raw data is there to be used, value can be extracted, but on the flip side the infrastructure needs to be put in place for business to be able to extract exactly what they need from vast data sets, while ensuring security, and keeping power consumption and physical footprint to a minimum — critical when you’re in space!
